Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is the Federal law that protects individuals from discrimination on the basis of their race, color, or national origin in programs that receive Federal financial assistance. WeGo Public Transit Title VI policy is intended to ensure equity and equal access in the provision of public transportation services in Davidson County regardless of race, national origin, or income. This includes ensuring that any changes to service or fares do not create a disparate impact on minority populations or place disproportionate burden on low-income populations.
Every three years, WeGo staff reviews and updates the agencies’ policies and programs. The three-year review allows us to take a look at how we’ve done, assess any demographic changes to the communities we serve, and alter any policies based on a transparent process with the community.
The intent of this meeting is to collect any public feedback from the draft document to incorporate any necessary changes prior to board adoption at the MTA and RTA Board of Directors’ meetings.
Attendance at the meeting is not required for comments. The public comment period is open now. Comments may be mailed to WeGo Public Transit Community Engagement, Attn: Public Meeting Comments, 430 Myatt Drive, Nashville, TN 37115; submitted by telephone by calling 615-862-5686; or emailed to [email protected] through August 18, 2025.
