Certification with WeGo Public Transit can help make you more competitive for contracts and business opportunities. The Business Diversity office is a certifying member of the Tennessee Uniform Certification Program (TNUCP) for the DBE program. Remember, you must be certified as a DBE in order to count your participation on contracts funded in whole or part with U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/ FTA funds.
How to Get Started
The department utilizes the WeGo Diversity Management System for our online certification process. This online certification system is developed and managed by B2G Now, Inc., which is currently used by a number of government agencies, airports, and other public entities including Tennessee Governor’s Office of Diversity – GoDBE, Nashville International Airport (BNA), and Metropolitan Nashville Government. Use of the system allows for efficient and faster processing of applications and records management. We require small businesses to use this system to complete all applications for certification.
The process to apply for DBE certification involves two steps:
- Create an account in our vendor management system
- Fill out and submit, along with the documents required, the Electronic Certification Application

To become eligible for certification under the federal program, your firm will be required to submit documentation showing it is an ongoing independent business enterprise that is owned, operated, and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individual.
