Transit Equity Day Bus Ride & Museum Tour

Wednesday, February 04, 2026
11:30 AM - 01:30 PM

Transit Equity Day is observed annually on February 4 to honor the life and legacy of Rosa Parks on her birthday. Parks became a pivotal figure in the Civil Rights Movement in 1955 when she refused to give up her seat on a segregated public bus in Montgomery, Alabama.

Her bravery made a lasting impact on transit equity and civil rights, reminding us that access to public transportation is fundamental to opportunity and dignity. Transit Equity Day calls attention to the ongoing need for accessible, affordable, and reliable public transportation and recognizes it as a civil right and a vital pathway toward social and economic justice for everyone.

Join WeGo Public Transit for a commemorative bus ride along historic Jefferson Street in North Nashville, followed by free admission and a guided tour of the Jefferson Street Sound Museum. Meet at the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center at WeGo Central, Upper Level, Bay 2.
