Access On Demand weekend service, new WeGo Link zones start May 31

May 29, 2025 02:00 PM

NASHVILLE – WeGo Public Transit will expand the popular Access on Demand service to weekends and add two new WeGo Link zones starting May 31.

Access on Demand is offered to registered Access customers, including those who require wheelchair-accessible transportation, giving them the option of booking a ride with the provider of their choice as few as 15 minutes in advance. Service will expand to Saturdays from 4:45 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Sundays/Holidays from 4:45 a.m. to 11 p.m. Service is provided by four providers: Mobility Solutions, zTrip, American Music City Taxi, and Uber.

"Programs like Access on Demand show the concern a city has for ALL of its residents. WeGo Link helps our neighbors not near a bus stop still access public transit," Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell said. "These may seem like little things, but to some of our neighbors they're everything. These are the type of improvements from Choose How You Move that yield generational change for Nashvillians."

“Access on Demand is a partnership, and we thank our rideshare contractors for their participation,” said WeGo CEO Steve Bland. “We have already heard from riders how important the additional weekend service will be in their lives. We look forward to continuing the expansion of our service utilizing funding from Choose How You Move.”

The new WeGo Link zones will be in the Maplewood/Broadmoor area of East Nashville and the Elm Hill Pike area of Donelson. The service is for any WeGo rider who finds getting to and from the bus stop challenging for any reason. It provides discounted trips to select transit stops through Uber, Mobility Solutions, and zTrip. Uber riders can download a reusable voucher on the WeGo website and receive up to $8 off each WeGo Link ride they book with Uber, with most rides costing customers $2. Riders can contact the other providers directly and mention WeGo Link. They will need to have QuickTicket or exact cash for the bus part of the trip.

The changes were approved by the Nashville MTA Board as part of Summer 2025 Service Changes. Other approved changes go into effect July 6. For information about Access on Demand, and for maps of the new WeGo Link zones, visit WeGoTransit.com.
