Home Apprenticeship Program
Get paid while you train
Become a mechanic with WeGo Public Transit.
Training to be a mechanic can be expensive. It’s free with the WeGo Apprenticeship Program.
This three-year program is recognized by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development and is a partnership between WeGo and the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) to address training needs, mentoring, and credentialing. The hands-on training takes place in the WeGo maintenance facilities with participants working on buses that are part of the active fleet.
The program combines training with a full-time salary and benefits, including health insurance. The goal is to advance participants into a starting mechanics position at WeGo, with even better pay and room for advancement.
