First Event will be Held on Thursday, September 17 at the Frist
NASHVILLE — WeGo Public Transit and the Frist Art Museum are excited to announce a collaboration and series of registration events at which Nashvillians are invited to sign up for
WeGo’s Journey Pass and the
Frist Art Museum’s free Explorer Membership, both of which offer income-based access to their services and programs.
The inaugural joint sign-up event will take place at the Frist Art Museum on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the museum’s Grand Lobby. It is the first of several such events planned in the coming months. Future joint registration dates will be announced as they are confirmed.
About Journey Pass
Journey Pass is Nashville’s largest-ever fare-free transit program, providing free WeGo rides to eligible Davidson County residents. It was made possible by the 2024 passage of the Choose How You Move transportation improvement program. Registrants should visit the
WeGo web page for eligibility requirements and a list of documents needed for registration. At the registration events, attendees will be able to sign up for a Journey Pass if they qualify and bring the proper documentation.
About the Explorer Membership
Explorer Memberships are available to residents of Davidson, Cheatham, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, or Wilson Counties with a household income of $40,000 or less for individuals or $80,000 or less for households with two adults.
The Explorer Membership is also available to undergraduate college students with a valid student ID. Eligible students include those who attend a college or university in Davidson, Cheatham, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, or Wilson County, as well as those who live in any of these counties.
Upon signing up for the Frist’s Explorer Membership, event attendees will have instant access to the galleries and Martin ArtQuest, the museum’s interactive artmaking space, during their visits to registration events.
The Explorer Membership provides free access to the museum as well as the following benefits:
- Discounted parking during museum visits for up to three hours per visit (valid only during the Frist’s operating hours; space is limited)
- A personalized digital membership card
- Invitations to members-only events, previews, and tours
- A digital Frist Art Museum Member Magazine subscription
Verification of residence is required upon application.
