Transit Signal Priority

In late 2019, we completed a 42-intersection upgrade along Murfreesboro Pike between Charles E. Davis Boulevard and Bell Road at Hickory Hollow Lane that included technology enabled to help smooth traffic flow and allow WeGo buses to improve their on-time performance.

Transit Signal Priority (TSP) is the name given to technology that helps to manage traffic flow more efficiently. For buses it reduces wait times at traffic signals by holding green lights longer, shortening red lights or in some cases allowing buses to bypass traffic.

As a person who drives or uses transit along Murfreesboro Pike, please take a few minutes to read over how this new technology helps you and some rules of the road.
